How does Refer a friend work?

Share your own link from Settings, Refer a friend. When someone signs up with it and makes their first payment, you get 10% off your subscription for six months. Each paying referral adds another 10%, up to 50% off. The person you refer gets a free trial of 30 days with no card needed.

#Get your link

1. Open Settings and choose the Refer a friend tab.
2. Under Your link, press Copy link.
3. Send it to anyone who might use UtilitySEO: by email, message or on social media.

Your link looks like https://app.utilityseo.com/auth/signup?code=JAMES-7K3Q, with your own code at the end. It is made the first time you open the tab and stays the same.

#How the reward works

• When it starts: when someone who signed up with your link makes their first real payment for a UtilitySEO plan. Signing up alone does not count.
• How much: 10% off your subscription for each paying referral.
• How long: six months from that person's first payment.
• The most: 50% off, from five paying referrals at the same time.
• How it is applied: taken off your bill automatically. If you are still on the trial, it comes off from your first payment when you subscribe.

As each six months ends, that referral's 10% drops off, so your discount goes down by 10% at a time.

#What you see on the tab

• Your discount now, as a percentage, with a bar showing how many of your five rewards are in use.
• People you referred, by first name and initial, with the date they joined and whether they are Signed up, not paying yet or Paying: 10% off until a date.

#What your friend gets

The usual free trial, lengthened to 30 days because they came with a code, and no card needed. See how the free trial works.

#Rules

• Your own account never earns from your own link.
• Codes work on brand-new sign-ups only. Someone who has had an account with us before cannot use your link.
• The reward is for payments to UtilitySEO plans, and each person you refer counts once.

#Can I get paid in money instead of a discount?

Not through Refer a friend. If you have an audience and want a share of payments instead, see the affiliate programme.

#Do I get an email when a referral starts paying?

Yes, if Referral rewards is switched on in Settings, Notifications. It is on unless you turned it off.

#My friend signed up but is not shown. Why?

They must sign up through your link, or type your code on the first sign-up step. If they signed up without it, email support@utilityseo.com.
