How do I download a copy of my data?
On this page
Open Settings, then Account, and press Download my data under Your data. Your browser downloads a JSON file with everything we hold that is linked to your account: your account details, your projects, scans and the data collected for them. It can take a moment to build. For spreadsheets of individual tables, use the export buttons on each page instead.
Download your data
- Open Settings, then Account.
- Scroll to Your data.
- Press Download my data. The button reads Preparing your file… while it works.
- Save the file, named utilityseo-my-data.json.

What is in the file
- Your account: name, email, plan, language, preferences and the consent choices you made.
- Your projects: each project you own, with its name and website.
- Data linked to you and your projects, table by table, named as we store it: scan results, keyword history, reports, AI visibility results, notification choices and more.
- Free-scan details if you used the free scan on our website with the same email.
JSON is a plain text format that computers read easily. You can open it in a text editor, or ask a developer to load it into a spreadsheet.
What is not in it
- Secrets. Your password hash and the access tokens for Google and other connections are listed as held but not shown, so the file is safe to keep.
- Very long tables in full. Each table includes up to 1,000 rows. If you need a complete copy of a long history, such as years of keyword data, export it from the page as a CSV (see export to CSV) or email support@utilityseo.com.
- Projects owned by someone else. If you are a member of another person's workspace, their projects are theirs to download.
- Card details. We never hold them; Stripe does. Your invoices are in Settings, then Billing, under Invoice history.
Questions people ask
Is this the same as a subject access request?
Yes. It is the same bundle we would prepare if you asked us in writing, and you get it straight away. If you also want to correct something or object to how we use your data, email support@utilityseo.com. We answer within one month.
The download failed. What now?
You will see "Could not build your export. Please try again." Try again in a minute. If it keeps failing, email support@utilityseo.com and we will send it to you.
Should I download my data before closing my account?
Yes, if you want to keep it. After your account has been closed for 30 days, the data is erased and cannot be downloaded. See close your account.
