Why are my results different from other SEO tools?
On this page
Every SEO tool reads a different number of pages, runs different checks and scores them its own way, so their scores and issue counts rarely match. UtilitySEO also leaves speed out of the health score and uses your own Google data where other tools often use estimates. Compare each tool with itself over time, not with another tool.

Why the scan finds different things
- Different pages. Our scan reads the pages it can reach from your sitemap and internal links, up to the page limit you choose. Another tool may stop sooner, go further, or start from a different address.
- Different checks. Each tool has its own list of checks and its own idea of what counts as a problem. We check the common problems that hold a site back in Google and in AI answers; no tool checks everything.
- JavaScript. We mainly read the page your server sends, which is also what most AI assistants read. A tool that runs your site's JavaScript on every page may see more on pages that fill in that way, and a tool that runs none may see less.
- Timing. A scan is a snapshot. If your site changed between two tools' scans, the results will differ.
Why the health score differs
- Speed is not in it. Many tools blend speed into their headline score. Ours lists speed separately, so a slow but well-built site does not read as broken. See the health score explained.
- Kinds of problem, not raw counts. One missing description on 300 pages is one kind of problem. Some tools count it 300 times.
- The number of pages. A score over 100 pages and one over 2,000 pages are not the same measurement.
Why keyword numbers differ
- Your own data. Positions, clicks and impressions come from your Search Console, which is what Google recorded for your site. Many tools estimate positions from their own checks of Google instead.
- Search volumes come from Google's Keyword Planner when Google Ads is connected. Other tools often use their own estimates.
- Rare searches are left out of Search Console by Google to protect privacy, so totals can be higher than the rows listed.

Questions people ask
Which number should I trust?
For your own clicks, impressions and positions, Google's own figures in Search Console. UtilitySEO reads those. For site problems, check the finding itself: each one names the page and what was found, so you can look at the page and decide.
Another tool found a problem UtilitySEO did not. Is UtilitySEO missing it?
Possibly. Our scan checks the pages it can reach, up to your plan's page limit, against our list of checks, and it is not exhaustive. If you think we should check for something, tell us in Settings, Ideas and requests, or at support@utilityseo.com.
My score went up, but the other tool's did not. Did my fixes work?
Track the finding and use Re-check this page on your Progress list to confirm the fix is live (see mark issues fixed and re-check them). Each tool's score moves with its own checks, so look at the specific problem rather than the headline number.
