What cookies does the UtilitySEO app use?
On this page
The app uses essential storage to keep you signed in, which is always on, and Google Analytics only if you agree to it. Google Analytics does not load until you press Accept all on the cookie banner (or tick the optional box when you sign up), and you can switch it off at any time in Settings, then Account, under Cookies.
Essential: always on
These keep the app working and you secure:
- Your sign-in. Your browser stores your sign-in so you stay signed in between pages. If you untick Remember me for 7 days, a small cookie that ends when the browser closes makes sure you are signed out when it does.
- A trusted-browser marker, if you tick Remember me for 7 days and enter a sign-in code, so that browser can skip the code for a while. See sign-in codes and Remember me.
- Your cookie choice on that browser, so the banner does not ask again.
None of these are used for advertising.
Analytics: only with your consent
We use Google Analytics to understand how the app is used, so we can improve it. It is optional:

- The banner appears once you are signed in. Accept all starts Google Analytics; Decline keeps it off.
- At sign-up, an optional box (never pre-ticked) offers the same thing.
- Until you accept, nothing is fetched from Google Analytics at all.
Change your choice
- Open Settings, then Account.
- Under Cookies, use the switch beside Analytics & performance.

Switching it off stops Google Analytics straight away and removes its cookies from your browser. Essential shows as Always on.
Questions people ask
Does opening the app tell Google I visited?
Not unless you accept analytics. The app's fonts load from app.utilityseo.com, not from Google, so they do not pass your visit to Google either.
What about cookies on utilityseo.com?
Our website is separate from the app. Its cookies, and the app's, are described in our cookie policy at https://utilityseo.com/cookie-policy.
Does connecting Google Search Console add cookies?
Not in the app. Connecting a Google service happens on Google's own sign-in page, under Google's own cookie rules. We store the access Google gives us on our servers, encrypted, not in a cookie. See how we use your Google data.
